Bird's Nest

This was the first time Audrey seeing bird nest in close up (first time for mummy as well) after she was told and shown by my friend while paying visit to her house the other day. It was amazed how bird could build their nest so neat with just using dry leave. Not only that, it's also durable to hold bird's egg inside before it churn out as baby bird.

This is something rare that we don't see it so often. So I considered that we were lucky to have seen it that day.

Mummy bird was away to find food or perhaps building another bigger nest for the new member.

The nest is so cosily and securely tucked on the tree. The bird is so clever and detailed hehe :) I posted something similar too but it was quite a flimsy and cincai one though... http://chloeruoyi.blogspot.com/2009/01/bird-nest.html

That's definitely a good experience for your girl, kids just love animals to bits... naturally!

Happy weekend to you!

The bird's nest is so nicely done by the mama bird. I've never seen a nest with an egg in it. Very rare occasion.

My office bird's not that clever. Built a nest aroud the roof and not safe at all. Sometimes, baby bird drop down - dead. Sometimes, fresh eggs drop down. But they still built there. The same spot over and over again. ;(
I did a post on this too http://mnhldiary.blogspot.com/2010/01/poor-birdie.htmlt

Yes..this is a very golden scenario! But I wonder what bird will the egg turn into. I saw the colour is reddish...*wondering*

It is amazing the parent birds can build such an intact nest with their saliva as their 'cement'. Lovely...
