BIL's Wedding - Part 1 "Lai Peng"

Just to share with you that "lai peng"- biscuit receive from guy side one week before marriage date, can be very delicious. Different dialect will have different style of "lai peng'. For example, "lau hui and muar lau" is for Hokkien, "ka lui peng" is for Cantonese or Teochew. However some of them prefer to give cake as "lai peng".

2nd day of Hari Raya was my BIL "guo lai" date. So he brought back some "lai peng" from his fiancee side and passed me one box of that. Huh...I would said that was the best presentable and most important best taste of "lai peng" that I ever had seen and tasted. Agree with me or not? See below.

I found that this vendor is actually a very famous biscuit/cake maker in Muar. They specialize in making all kind of biscuit for marriage. I'm so impressed of their marketing (especially their investment in packaging design and materials).

Hold Our Hand.....

I have a very strong and warm feelings when I see this photo. Both my sweethearts are holding their hands together.

Ya.... since we don't plan to have 3rd kid (at least for the time being), these 2 little sisters have to hold their hands together when they play, laugh, learn, study, etc.

3 Vs One

What is 3 vs one? Three women versus one man in our family. Lye is getting worried on how to handle 3 of us. We will have 3 votes vs 1 for decision making(perhaps I could gain the votes), 3 mouths to argue, 2 more "shopping kakis", therefore 2 more spender coming up.

Ha ha....I calmed him down by giving some good points of having 3 women in a house. For instance, you won't feel lonely as gals talk more, we will have extra hands to do household, 2 more caring hearts, we will have 2 "sons" in future. Am i right?

Desperate For Earrings?

My little gal always like to be dressed up nicely by tying her hair (it's my headache to tie her hair...too little). Ever since she knew about the accessories that hangs on the ear named earrings, she started requesting me to buy for her when she grows up.

She was so desperate to wear earrings until she found idea to stick small piece of sticker on her ears. See..... In fact we planned to bring her to punch earring hole next 2 weeks but my aunty advised us not to do it now as she is too young to take care of her ears by herself. Furthermore who will be paying attention (someone from day care center) if her ears need special care? So we postponed our plan after listening to her.

The Making Of "Egg Tart"

Guess what? I was trying to make some homemade egg tart during the long holidays since we didn't plan for any vacation. I'm very lazy and scared to try something unusual, unscheduled, no confident, time consuming activities and etc..... reason being I just don't wish to waste my energy, time spend to complete the task, money and most important is my hope. If the result does not come up to my expectation, then I would feel "xian liaw".

Since I talked so loud about my plan to my colleague and one of my friend who willing to taste it, ai ya...no choice, must do it......otherwise "malu" ler, "cakap kuat aja".

After spending 1.5 hours on preparing the ingredients according to the recipe, finally my task was completed half. See photo of the egg tart ready for oven.

After 20mins, my egg tart were ready. Emmmm.....who dare to try it. He He.....I gave Audrey first priority to taste it and guess what she said "mummy, "tan tart" very yummy". I was so happy until I took my first bite, cheeseeeeee, the "skin" of the tart was not fully cook. My goodness. Nevermind, try again next round.....I'll be back.
P/S : Alvin, luckily you were not here, otherwise "pai seh".
