Wedding Gift To Guest

Do you notice that nowadays there are trend on giving away small gift from wedding host to their guests as a token of appreciation during wedding dinner? The gifts are usually being pre-placed on the table for each guest. I personally like the idea so much. Too bad that we didn't organize anything for our guest during our wedding dinner :( emm... I think only a small choc bar from the restaurant on that night, :P

So now whenever attending wedding dinner, I'm looking forward to bring back something nice (wow.... sounds bad and greedy hor) and to keep it nicely in my drawer. I even unwrap it so that it will always in its perfect condition.

From left : Key chain (red and white) from my cousin brother (Kenny). Another key chain (wedding couple) from hubby's cousin brother (Seng).

From left : Spoon with ribbon and thank you note from hubby's colleague. Half egg shape of candles in a small box from my ex-colleague (Cecilia). I've been keeping this for 4 years.

From left : Mum gave these 2 nice saucers to me. She got it from my cousin brother's wedding dinner in S'pore. I like these so much! Isn't it cute? Another unique wedding gift from a friend (TC & Mevis).

Wedding Month

We were tight up with wedding dinners since beginning of Oct. For four consecutive weeks, we have been busy attending wedding dinner invited by friend, colleagues and relatives. This is not the end yet, 2 more dinners to go before end of this year. Huh.... goodbye my hard earn money....... Hubby claimed it's time for us to pay back ever since our wedding 6 years ago.

I like to attend wedding dinner especially when I have chance to meet up with friends and relatives. Our life is so busy that we hardly gather to talk and update each other news, so this is one of the way to pull us together again.

My 2 little angels has become the youngest 'chi mui' for their aunty's wedding last 2 weeks. They looks so lovely with the beautiful corsage on hand. At night, we went for dinner at Kepong. First time taking photo with their great grandma whom 'sayang' (love in English) both of them so much especially Shannen who always melt and win her heart.

Sister In Law Wedding - 291108

We stayed over night at my MIL house as my SIL wedding was too early in the next morning. Groom must arrives bride's house around 7am. Phewww......
I woke up around 6am that morning. Ya, a bit late, initially plan to wake up 5.30pm but due to Shannen coughing the whole night, I got no enough sleep. As all the relatives not coming yet, so only myself and MIL busy preparing foods. Luckily it was just a simple preparation as all the foods are ready made except for morning tea.

Sharp at 7.15am, groom and his brother arrived. Those neighbours who are still in their sweet dream maybe awake by the "loud horn"..... no choice.

Those "chi mui" are well experienced in torturing groom. This is the first time I came across chi mui that are so health conscious. They came up with few yoga posture (picture print out) for the groom and brother to do it on the spot. It's so fun and greats.

See, the groom is trying hard to band here and there as this posture was requested by the bride to be carried out by he groom, no one can help.....

My BIL's Wedding - Part 3 "Wedding Dinner"

3.00pm Sunny

After a short nap, we went to look c look c for hair salon around that area to get our hairs set. There were few salon around and it's hard to decide which hair stylist could deliver the best services. It's like gambling, instead of money, we are putting out head and hair on the table. We asked the price and find it's quite reasonable (RM22 for wash and set), in fact to me it was cheap as compared to those in Sg.Long. Of course the quality will be on par to the price we are paying.

However, I've make the worst assumption just in case the result doesn't turn up to my expectation and at least I'm ready to accept the truth.

The lady who helped to set my hair was damn slow in action. My autie keep on pushing her to act faster. But the lady just stayed steady and replied in smile. I was so worried if she felt unhappy, what will happen to my hair? I still need to attend wedding dinner ler....

Finally we finished just in time and rushed like mad to dress up and go to restaurant. That's how I looked that night.

The dinner was held in "Long Seng, Nilai". They just shifted to a new big building that has few ball rooms. I would say the place is nice due to newly built. The environment it's 80% compatible to hotel style with a 20% cheaper cost. Not bad.

BIL's Wedding - Part 2 "181008"

18 Oct 2008 Cloudy morning

Finally it was the actual day of my BIL wedding. We drove to Seremban early in the morning and after reached his house, we had our breakfast and started to help to set up tables, arranged chairs, foods and drinks for the "chi mui".

The bride and groom reached home around 10.30am. An hour later, rain started and luckily all the ceremony already done. "Teh" pun sudah minum, "Ang Pow" pun sudah bagi.

I helped to shoot some photos for them. Prevented very professional and try to find some artistic angel for shooting. However, hubby commented my skills still need further improvement....after loaded the photo into PC, I realised some of the photos were not very clear. Pai seh.....

What do you think?

BIL's Wedding - Part 1 "Lai Peng"

Just to share with you that "lai peng"- biscuit receive from guy side one week before marriage date, can be very delicious. Different dialect will have different style of "lai peng'. For example, "lau hui and muar lau" is for Hokkien, "ka lui peng" is for Cantonese or Teochew. However some of them prefer to give cake as "lai peng".

2nd day of Hari Raya was my BIL "guo lai" date. So he brought back some "lai peng" from his fiancee side and passed me one box of that. Huh...I would said that was the best presentable and most important best taste of "lai peng" that I ever had seen and tasted. Agree with me or not? See below.

I found that this vendor is actually a very famous biscuit/cake maker in Muar. They specialize in making all kind of biscuit for marriage. I'm so impressed of their marketing (especially their investment in packaging design and materials).
