Sister In Law Wedding - 291108

We stayed over night at my MIL house as my SIL wedding was too early in the next morning. Groom must arrives bride's house around 7am. Phewww......
I woke up around 6am that morning. Ya, a bit late, initially plan to wake up 5.30pm but due to Shannen coughing the whole night, I got no enough sleep. As all the relatives not coming yet, so only myself and MIL busy preparing foods. Luckily it was just a simple preparation as all the foods are ready made except for morning tea.

Sharp at 7.15am, groom and his brother arrived. Those neighbours who are still in their sweet dream maybe awake by the "loud horn"..... no choice.

Those "chi mui" are well experienced in torturing groom. This is the first time I came across chi mui that are so health conscious. They came up with few yoga posture (picture print out) for the groom and brother to do it on the spot. It's so fun and greats.

See, the groom is trying hard to band here and there as this posture was requested by the bride to be carried out by he groom, no one can help.....

Lye's Family Photo

This is our first family photo ever since Shannen joined as member. We took this during my colleague's wedding last few weeks. Thanks to the photographer, Devaki.

During the high tea, Audrey got the chance to meet her friend, Lisa. Lisa is my colleague's daughter. We always share story about them, it was a lot of fun as both of them could create funny topics for the mums to share with. Of course sometimes we will also exchange our thoughts of teaching and coaching our gals.

We even named them as " penyamun " group. Don't ask me why....longggggggg story. I really hope their relationship will last long as we have limited Malay friend. But it's quite funny when you watch both of them talking. Audrey doesn't know or understand much about Malay language. Lisa speaks Malay more than English. So you can imagine the situation having one chic talking to one duck on their own language. However they can still mix around to be friend. Amazing!

Virus Attacked Audrey

That's why I don't really agreed to send Audrey to day care center at her aged below 4. However at that point of time we got no choice because my aunt (use to be my baby sitter) went for a long holidays trip during my confinement.

She was attacked by viruses quite frequent ever since she enrolled to day care center. Flu and fever for few days follow by cough which could stay for weeks. We have a hard time considering sending her back to my aunt as we just can't seeing her suffering due to illness, worst her weight was declining. However, we still stick to our plan reason being she has learnt a lot from the day care and she is more cheerful now. She can sings quite a number of songs which could entertain us sometimes.

Most important reason was I won't be receiving complaint everyday when I pick her up. Last time when she stayed with my aunt, her son used to complain about her so much. I felt so fed up listening to that everyday when I fetched her. And I think I've make the right choice.

Audrey just recovered from fever and vomiting kind of illness since last Wed. What a nightmare for us, we were having so much worried. On the third day, red rashes even appeared on her body especially her face. We brought her to doctor again. Doctor said this is called "fong mok". It comes and goes, really got no idea how to cure it. But we noticed whenever she feels hot, then the red thing appeared. However, doctor advised us if her fever doesn't go by last Sunday, she will need to go for blood test. Luckily on Monday morning, her fever gone as well as the "fong mok".

Actually another 3 of her school mates were also affected by the same virus. All of them met each other in the clinic on Wed morning. According to the principle, she suspected the virus was from another kid.

"Mummy, I Want To Get Married"

Few weeks back, my conversation with Audrey was......

Audrey : Mummy, mummy, I want to marry with Yu Joon.

Mum : What? Of course cannot.....who is Yu Joon? Daddy n
mummy don't even know him, how can u marry him.

Audrey : Ne....Yu Joon is my schoolmate ma, I like to play
with him. I want to get married and wear sexy wedding gaun.

Mum : Okie, okie, next time u introduce Yu Joon to daddy
mummy first.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today, while driving back home, Audrey again start talking
about....
Audrey : Mummy, I want to marry with Kai Jie.
Mum : Em....why not Yu Joon this time?
Audrey : Because u knew Kai Jie, right? He always give
me sticker.
(Kai Jie, Jane's son, I knew her from Sg.Long Buddhist Playgroup)
Mum : *?* (Thinking in my heart, this gal try to marry
someone that I knew and hoping that I won't object her request)....*sigh*
I knew her intention of getting married with someone, she just
wants to wear like a bride. She loves "sexy" gaun (referring to
tube design gaun that I wore last time).
My Little Shannen
Sorry la Sin Lee, I always forget to post my little gal photo. She joined the dinner too and luckily Lye's aunt was helping me to look after her.
My BIL's Wedding - Part 3 "Wedding Dinner"
3.00pm Sunny
After a short nap, we went to look c look c for hair salon around that area to get our hairs set. There were few salon around and it's hard to decide which hair stylist could deliver the best services. It's like gambling, instead of money, we are putting out head and hair on the table. We asked the price and find it's quite reasonable (RM22 for wash and set), in fact to me it was cheap as compared to those in Sg.Long. Of course the quality will be on par to the price we are paying.
However, I've make the worst assumption just in case the result doesn't turn up to my expectation and at least I'm ready to accept the truth.
The lady who helped to set my hair was damn slow in action. My autie keep on pushing her to act faster. But the lady just stayed steady and replied in smile. I was so worried if she felt unhappy, what will happen to my hair? I still need to attend wedding dinner ler....
Finally we finished just in time and rushed like mad to dress up and go to restaurant. That's how I looked that night.
The dinner was held in "Long Seng, Nilai". They just shifted to a new big building that has few ball rooms. I would say the place is nice due to newly built. The environment it's 80% compatible to hotel style with a 20% cheaper cost. Not bad.
My Little "Ke Po Chi"
My little "ke po chi" was so excited to attend her uncle's wedding. She woke up without "lau kai" that morning as she knew that I will dressed her up nicely. This is how she looked that morning. Furthermore she is too cooperative when being asked to pose for camera shooting, really "bei ta han".....
BIL's Wedding - Part 2 "181008"
18 Oct 2008 Cloudy morning
Finally it was the actual day of my BIL wedding. We drove to Seremban early in the morning and after reached his house, we had our breakfast and started to help to set up tables, arranged chairs, foods and drinks for the "chi mui".
The bride and groom reached home around 10.30am. An hour later, rain started and luckily all the ceremony already done. "Teh" pun sudah minum, "Ang Pow" pun sudah bagi.
I helped to shoot some photos for them. Prevented very professional and try to find some artistic angel for shooting. However, hubby commented my skills still need further improvement....after loaded the photo into PC, I realised some of the photos were not very clear. Pai seh.....
What do you think?
BIL's Wedding - Part 1 "Lai Peng"
Just to share with you that "lai peng"- biscuit receive from guy side one week before marriage date, can be very delicious. Different dialect will have different style of "lai peng'. For example, "lau hui and muar lau" is for Hokkien, "ka lui peng" is for Cantonese or Teochew. However some of them prefer to give cake as "lai peng".
2nd day of Hari Raya was my BIL "guo lai" date. So he brought back some "lai peng" from his fiancee side and passed me one box of that. Huh...I would said that was the best presentable and most important best taste of "lai peng" that I ever had seen and tasted. Agree with me or not? See below.
I found that this vendor is actually a very famous biscuit/cake maker in Muar. They specialize in making all kind of biscuit for marriage. I'm so impressed of their marketing (especially their investment in packaging design and materials).
If you are interested to order or visit their shop, below is their contact no and address:
Yong Seng Confectionery Sdn. Bhd.
30, Jalan Sayang, 84000 Muar, Johor.
Tel: 06- 9521 362
p/s: don't forget to buy me some if you use to drop by. My friend's hubby said they even have a very good customer service.
Hold Our Hand.....
I have a very strong and warm feelings when I see this photo. Both my sweethearts are holding their hands together.
Ya.... since we don't plan to have 3rd kid (at least for the time being), these 2 little sisters have to hold their hands together when they play, laugh, learn, study, etc.
3 Vs One
What is 3 vs one? Three women versus one man in our family. Lye is getting worried on how to handle 3 of us. We will have 3 votes vs 1 for decision making(perhaps I could gain the votes), 3 mouths to argue, 2 more "shopping kakis", therefore 2 more spender coming up.
Ha ha....I calmed him down by giving some good points of having 3 women in a house. For instance, you won't feel lonely as gals talk more, we will have extra hands to do household, 2 more caring hearts, we will have 2 "sons" in future. Am i right?
Desperate For Earrings?
My little gal always like to be dressed up nicely by tying her hair (it's my headache to tie her hair...too little). Ever since she knew about the accessories that hangs on the ear named earrings, she started requesting me to buy for her when she grows up.
She was so desperate to wear earrings until she found idea to stick small piece of sticker on her ears. See..... In fact we planned to bring her to punch earring hole next 2 weeks but my aunty advised us not to do it now as she is too young to take care of her ears by herself. Furthermore who will be paying attention (someone from day care center) if her ears need special care? So we postponed our plan after listening to her.
The Making Of "Egg Tart"
Guess what? I was trying to make some homemade egg tart during the long holidays since we didn't plan for any vacation. I'm very lazy and scared to try something unusual, unscheduled, no confident, time consuming activities and etc..... reason being I just don't wish to waste my energy, time spend to complete the task, money and most important is my hope. If the result does not come up to my expectation, then I would feel "xian liaw".
Since I talked so loud about my plan to my colleague and one of my friend who willing to taste it, ai ya...no choice, must do it......otherwise "malu" ler, "cakap kuat aja".
After spending 1.5 hours on preparing the ingredients according to the recipe, finally my task was completed half. See photo of the egg tart ready for oven.
After 20mins, my egg tart were ready. Emmmm.....who dare to try it. He He.....I gave Audrey first priority to taste it and guess what she said "mummy, "tan tart" very yummy". I was so happy until I took my first bite, cheeseeeeee, the "skin" of the tart was not fully cook. My goodness. Nevermind, try again next round.....I'll be back.
P/S : Alvin, luckily you were not here, otherwise "pai seh".
Pediasure vs Sustagen
Audrey is taking Pediasure choc flavor milk currently. She only likes choc flavor and refused to drink other than that. Not too long ago, she complained that the milk we mixed for her had one kind of smell and she refused to drink it. We tried to smell it and really, we could feel very little odd smell (like "chao yao yik"-cantonese) on the mixed milk. However we still forced her to drink the milk as we thought not a big deal, we may able to eliminate the smell by mixing more hot instead of warm water. No choice, she consumed it with a “long” face …… drinking half way, she felt like vomit. Poor gal….
The next and following night, the smell getting worst so I told hubby to send it back to the shop since the milk powder was just purchased few days back. Luckily the shop that we used to purchase our milk powder was very generous and exchanged a new tin of milk to us after our explanation. The shopkeeper even agreed that child has a very sensitive tongue than adult. They could immediately sense even with just a slight different of taste on their food. Upon receiving the new tin of milk powder, we opened it on the spot and let’s our little inspector carried out the smell test. Quality checked and passed.
Later on, we found out that the milk powder shall be consumed within 2 weeks once open. Alamak, Audrey takes more than 3 weeks to finish one tin. So we decided to try other brands which might not have this restriction. Not many brands of milk powder have choc flavor, I could only think of Sustagen. But to my disappointment, they don’t have choc flavor sample milk powder for testing. Ai ya...headache la.
We have the same colour blood
I was in a full day training since yesterday. The training topic was related to OHSAS 18001 which our company is in the progress of preparing all the ground works for certification, probably next year.
What I wish to highlight here is a statement made by the trainer that make my heart feel so warm. He said : "Community nowadays are lack of 'caring' attitude, we shouldn't care what skin colours we have ... because in the end, we all have the same colour of blood." This makes me think of those stupid fellows making big hoo haa about racist issues. I wonder if his blood is other colour than red.
Lantern Festival
The rain started right before we move table and chairs outside for a small gathering of lantern festival. I thought we won't be having any celebration as this year, my brothers in law not free due to relative (wife side) house warming and my sister in law was in Brisbane. However, my mother in law still go ahead by preparing some fruits, tea, moon cakes and yam even though only 6 of us, including 2 toddlers. But weather forecast don't really allow us to sit under the moon and enjoy foods together. Finally we decided to celebrate inside the house. See, that's how we lightened up the living hall with colorful lantern and eat our moon cakes. Not bad ler....
Ants Evolution?
I'm not sure what had happened to ants nowadays.... I'm referring to red, tiny ant? They seems to be smart by "pretending dead" whenever they could sense enemy like me around, looking at them and knowing that I'm prepared to attack them anytime. Probably they have invented a longer "antenna" to sense moving object in 5ft distance, make self protection or evacuation when needed. If you don't mind, please help to do some test on the ants at your place and let me know whether all the ants are smart or just like human being, there are also low IQ people like me.
Our Young Photograher
Audrey loves to be photographed. Not too long ago, she has learned to take photos using our digital camera. Sometimes we have to "fight" to use the only canon digital camera we have.
To our surprise, she could handle the camera quite well. This is proven from the photos taken and they are very artistic too. Share with you some of her "masterpieces".
Do they look alike?
What do you think? Do they look alike? Em..... Audrey doesn’t have double eyelid (at least for the time being, maybe it will appear in her older age like me) whereas Shannen is gifted an obvious double eyelid (daddy always claimed she is gifted with the perfect gene from daddy…chek!).
"Y" On my Forehead
Audrey fell down from our bed one night. She claimed that we (me and hubby) kicked her down from the bed.... ha ha, she must be kidding! But I remembered the sound of something knocked on the floor that was very loud, followed by her big scream and cries.
Next morning, I found something weird appeared on her forehead.....it's a "Y". Why? Probably her forehead also "wondering" why she could fell down. Her My Montessori teacher even asked her who wrote a Y on her forehead and laughed after knowing the true story.
I Can Hold My Own Milk Bottle....yupeeeee
My little gal is able to hold her own milk bottle now...... after few times training conducted by her daddy. We are more relax now as we can do some minor work (read newspaper, hang or fold cloth, sms, etc) while monitoring her own feeding. Of course sometimes we got to guide her to reach the last few drops or when the bottle just slipped off her fingers.
Try To Open Tumbler
Usually I'll open tumbler for her whenever I ask her to drink water. However this time when I ask her to drink water, she quietly get her tumbler and try to open by herself. That's how she was trying so hard with her towel. But still can't get it open.......
Egg Mould
Since today I'm on MC and Audrey is not going to My Mon, I prepared some simple lunch for both of us, porridge + sausage + mould egg.
I get this plastic mould through my colleague's husband who always travel to Taiwan for business. And this is the first time I've been trying it to make a little surprise for Audrey.
She's so happy when she got her boiled egg in a rabbit shape.
Warehouse Sales at G2000
My SIL sent me the broucher about warehouse sales for G2000 since last 2 weeks. Never border to go due to the unknown place (opposite The Weld) and time contraint. However after she showed me her successful result of buying quite a number of clothes from there with reasonable prices, I was also tempted to be there. Finally we (ask hubby to be the driver) joined the crowd last week.
The sales was mainly on 50% discount and some with 70% discount. If you are a Citibank credit card holder and you have purchased more than RM100, you are entitled for another 20% discount from the discounted price item. Many of them confused with the advertisement and only realised upon explaination from the staff.
When we reached, the place was full due to lunch time. Many OL and OM preying for their clothes. After 1.5 hours of discovering and searching, I could only find one pair of clothes (blouse + pants) that suite me and worth buying. The pants was selling cheap (after discount only RM38++) but I could hardly find my size. All hanging on the rack were of sizes 24" and 25". Luckily I managed to grap one sized 27".
Hubby also managed to find a pair of pants. He is claiming the price not cheap and maybe can find in other store during this mega sales time. But since, we were there, might as well just get something.
Developing A Time Investment Strategy
Have you ever meet someone that he/she telling you he is free today, not busy, very relaxing with the current working life? I think it's hard to hear those answer nowadays. Everyone is claiming themselves busy, no time for this and that.
How many of us actually know how to make use of the hours in a day that everyone has the same? If you could manage it well, you will find time to do more things.
Dr.Paulson advises that we shall work smart by having a Strategic Time Investment Strategy. What is it all about?
There are 6 Strategies :
a) Focus on priorities
b) Avoid the kiss of yes
c) Have a daily plan and use it
d) Create a meaningful ways to measure results
e) Delegate with high expectation but manage priority shift.
f) Balance professional and personal commitments.
On the other hand, we shall rank our task by level. This will help us to prioritise our task.
Level A - task that must be done
Level B - task that could be done
Level C - task that could be started
Plan your time so that you will have more time than other has.....
"Pun Choy"
What is Pun Choy? Have you ever taste it?
To me, it's actually nothing to shout about after we had tried it during our last Chinese New Year.
The cook just lay dishes on top of each other into a big bowl. And the bowl will be kept warm using a small stove. We were served with white rice that were mixed with small fried onion. The rice smells very good. We started eating from the top layer until the bottom dish.
What you can find inside this big bowl? Chicken, pork, mushroom, sea cucumber, prawn, broccoli, scallop, dried oyster, duck, abalone, fish ball, etc.
I was thinking, perhaps the founder for pun choy basically just wanted to save time and resources so that he/she doesn't need to wash so many utensil or plate after meals. All he needs to do is just dump 8 or 9 different dishes into one big bowl.
Guess how much we got to pay for the above pun choy? ................ close to RM1000, thanks partly because of the abalone too.
Over Sterilised Avent Milk Bottle
I admit that I've been very forgetful since my 2nd delivery. Look at below photos and you will definitely get a shock. This was the consequences of being forgetful..... :(
I only realised that I'm yet to turn off the stove when I smelled something like PVC melting. My poor Avent brand new bottles.
Monkey Song Lyrics
Yesterday night while driving to LP's house, our little singer keep on singing the same song. We tried to figure out the lyrics and we could summarized it as below:
One little monkey jumping on the bed.
One fell down, bumping on his head.
Mother call the doctor, doctor said
no more monkey jumping on the bed.
And I just found out that the correct lyrics shall be
One little monkey jumping on the bed.
He fell off and bumped his head.
Called the doctor and the doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed.
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed.
Not sure whether her teacher change the lyrics or she captured the wrong word sang by her teacher. Anyway....it's just very impressing when she carried out some action while singing.
Motivating Through Positive Communication
This was one of the training title that I've attended yesterday. It's true that what we are delivering everyday from our mind through mouth has a great impact to the receivers either good (motivate) or bad (demotivate).
Author Amanda Gore says "Things you think become your beliefs and then your beliefs become your behavious".
Sometimes we got to be "deaf" to negative input and this is the way to keep people from programming negative things into your mind. Do you agree?
And we shall eliminate words like "but" and "don't" in our daily communication especially to our children.
Birthday Gift Redemption
I'm yet to fully redeem my birthday gift for this year. Em....it's only valid until end of this month.
I've only redeemed one dress from Robinson store last Sunday. So must put some effort this weekend before expiry and also before Mega Sales ended.
I plan to get a pair of sunglasses from those optical shop like Miki Paris. Wondering I could find one that suit me and must be reasonable price.....
Chickenpox
I’m pretty busy since last week. My colleague was still on medical leave due to chickenpox. He got infection from his son who had just recovered few weeks ago. And he told me that he is suffering now as many poxes on his skin, even on his head….poor guy. I was being told that “if you were infected at older age, the more pox you will get”. Good luck to him.
Shall I worried whether my gals will be infected by the virus as they already being vassine since born? Some say even with vassine, it will not eliminate 100%.
What is chickenpox? An infectious disease causing a mild fever and a rash of itchy inflamed pimples, caused by the herpes zoster virus.
Little Book Worm
Audrey likes to follow what others are doing. We went to Kinokuniya. After entering the store, she moved straight to the book shelf and simply picked a book and sat on the staircase where few others sitting down reading. I told her the book is not suitable for her and brought her to the children's area.
The moment she reached, she immediately picked a story book and sat on the floor like what other children did. After flipping the book, she picked another one again. She pretended busy looking for a book that suits her. At the end she refused to leave the store until I got to promise her that we will be coming back later. Ai….wondering if she is a book lover b’coz her mum is obviously not that type.
Half, Quarter.....Little Bit
Hubby likes to teach Audrey new things as and when there are opportunities (during shopping, meal time, etc). So yesterday while almost finishing our lunch, he took a slice of tomato and asked Audrey a question “how many of tomato slice here”. She answered “one”.
Then hubby cut that slice of tomato into half and asked her the same question by pointing the half cut tomato. Audrey couldn't answer and we taught her that’s “half” slice of tomato. Later hubby cut that half slice of tomato into quarter. We knew she won’t be answering it correctly but for the sake of asking and to make her think, to our surprise she could dig out from her mind and answered “little bit”….. ha ha…we were laughing.
This recalls our memory that when she was 2 yrs old, we wanted her to show us where her toes…are. She pointed at her stomach. We thought she just mix up the body name so we tried to correct her by telling her that’s not toes but stomach (in English). She seems not agree with us and keeping on saying it’s “toes”. At the end we figure out that she has translated toes in English to the same vocal for the meaning of stomach in Cantonese. Huh….
Tulips Garden - my dream
Have you ever receive tulips as a gift? Yes, I did but only once. I'm glad to have had the chance to hold it personally. Thanks to my hubby. He knew that I like flowers especially tulips and due to the fact that we do not afford to be in the place where tulips grow in acres, he had make special order of this expensive tulips from a florist as one of my birthday present. However, I still dream to visit tulips garden in Holland one day.......
A New Bloom
Welcome to my "spring", where tulips bloom forever...
